Seattle is the largest (84 square miles) and fastest-growing city in the Northwest.  With a distinctive, hilly cityscape crowned by the Space Needle, Seattle occupies an isthmus surrounded by Puget Sound, Lake Washington, and, in the background, both the Olympic and Cascade ranges, studded by Mount Rainier.  Home of Starbucks, Boeing, and the world’s longest floating bridge, Seattle is the most literate city in the country.

Many neighborhoods in Seattle are bike- and pedestrian-friendly, but all are diverse and distinctive.  A complex transit system, ferries, freeways and highways link them all together. The following are just some of the outstanding communities which make up the heart of Seattle.
